Winter is the perfect time to stay indoors and get productive in your home. Painting can be a great task to get out of the way when it’s too cold to be outside. There are plenty of reason why waiting until the colder months is the best for interior painting jobs.
Time
In the winter, there are less activities to do on weekends and days off. This is a great time to do go on an interior painting-spree. You can have more availability to hire a professional when you are around to be at home when they are painting, if that’s what you want to do.
Professional Help at a Lower Cost
Contractors are less busy in the winter, and usually cheaper as well. It’s estimated that getting your home painted during the off-season can save you about 40%. Since contractors are usually less busy during this time, they are more willing to work around your schedule, too.
Paint Drying Faster
Most would think paint would dry faster in the heat of the summer, but it actually goes opposite ways. Humidity is not good for drying paint, so the cold, crisp air, actually helps! To help with this, make sure you leave windows open after the paint job is done for a while to get the colder air circulating through your home or space.
Early Light
The sun sets pretty early into the evening during the winter, but it rises earlier, as well! Having natural light to complete a paint job is better than artificial light. It helps you see what the paint actually appears like. If you can, definitely try to have painters would on your walls during the prime daylight.
Saving Money and Time
By getting painting out of the way in the winter, you’ll have more time for other projects, such as landscaping and yard work, when the warm weather comes around. That’s when you can get some exterior painting done, too! It’s good to spread out work done on your home or property so you can budget and not be extremely busy doing everything at once.
